What the heck is a Wish Agent, and why would I want one?

The Wish Agent lets you send and receive interactive, personalized wishes with friends and colleagues and to have fun designing custom Wish Agent looks and themes.

The Wish Agent is an updated take on the classic children's folded paper toy known variously as a cootie catcher, fortune teller, flipper, snapdragon, salt cellar, flexigon, scrunchie (UK and Australia), Pfeffer und Salz (Germany, "pepper and salt") and Nasenkniefer (Germany, "nose pincher") .

You may remember making these as a kid — writing up secret messages and decorating the paper before folding it up and selecting exactly the right friend to play it with you, hoping they would choose the fortune you intended for them.

Since us big kids tend to be trapped at our desks all day, the Wish Agent lets you have all the fun of decorating, writing wishes and sending it to just the right people all from your web browser.

What else can I do with it?

You can use a Wish Agent to send a fun selection of messages to a friend or a bunch of friends. But you can also get creative and use it as a unique way to spread news and information.

Having a party? Design a festive Wish Agent and include wishes like "You're going to have the time of your life at my party on the 22nd! See you at my house at 8!" and "You'll dance up a storm at my party on the 22nd! See you at my house at 8!".

Welcoming a baby to the family? How about a nice blue model with "It's a boy! His name is Alfonso Balthezaar Winterbottom IV!"

Use a Wish Agent to help you make a decision, or tell you what fate really has in store: "He loves me? He loves me not?"

How do I play with it?

If someone has sent you a Wish Agent, follow the instructions in orange near the bottom of the screen to play until you arrive at a wish. After you get your wish, you will have a chance to send out one of your own — either designing it from scratch or choosing a ready-made theme.
